Richmond Hill Travel Guide
Welcome to Richmond Hill, ON!
Located north of Toronto, the city of Richmond Hill was a rose-growing centre in the early 1900s and was known as the country's Rose Capital. Today, the quiet and relaxed suburb offers a variety of events and attractions for visitors. The city has numerous recreation facilities and parks including Mill Pond Park, which hosts Concerts in the Park each Thursday in the summer, and Richmond Green Sports Centre and Park where the country's birthday is celebrated with a huge fireworks display during the Canada Day Celebrations. Those who want to learn about the town's culture and history can visit the Richmond Hill Heritage Centre, while those who just want some fun can spend a day at the Wave Pool. In winter, visitors can help the locals kick off the holiday season at the Annual Festival of Lights Event. These events and activities, as well as some great restaurants and shopping, make Richmond Hill an ideal year-round vacation destination.
Located in a cottage built in the 1840s that has been restored to reflect the look of the era, the heritage centre aims to represent the cultural heritage and history of the local community through gallery exhibits, programs and workshops.
